How we protect your information

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. By using this website, you agree to the practices described here. This policy should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions, which together govern your use of this site.

1. Who We Are

This website is owned and operated by Canyon Spirit Botanical Ventures, LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. Our instructor, Feather Jones, offers educational programs focused on herbal traditions, plant knowledge, and practical preparation skills.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us on our contact form.

2. What Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account on our platform, we collect your name, email address, and a password. You may also optionally upload a profile image.

Purchase and billing information. When you make a purchase, billing details such as your name, email address, and payment information are collected. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers — that data is held securely by Stripe.

Contact form submissions. If you reach out through our contact form, we collect the information you provide (typically your name, email, and message). Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your inquiry and are not used for marketing purposes.

Comments. If you leave a comment on our site, we collect your name, email address, the content of your comment, your IP address, and your browser user agent string. This information helps us detect and prevent spam.

Automatically collected data. When you visit our site, certain information is collected automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, and general location (derived from IP address). This data is used for security, analytics, and site improvement purposes.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the site function properly and to better understand how visitors use it. Cookies fall into two categories:

Required cookies. These are necessary for the site to operate and cannot be disabled. They include cookies that manage your login session, remember items in your shopping cart, maintain your account display preferences, and support site security. These cookies do not track your identity or behavior for advertising purposes.

Analytics and tracking cookies. With your consent, we may use tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our site — including pages visited, time spent, device and browser information, and general location. This data is used in aggregate to improve the site experience. These tools may collect your IP address, though in many cases this is anonymized.

Advertising and remarketing cookies. We may use advertising pixels from platforms such as Google and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to serve relevant ads to people who have visited our site, including through remarketing campaigns on those advertising networks. Unless you opt out, these pixels may set a cookie on your device that allows those platforms to serve you ads related to our products and services.

You can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies at any time by adjusting your browser settings or by using opt-out tools provided by those platforms (such as Google’s Ad Settings or Meta’s Ad Preferences). Required cookies cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To deliver our services. Processing your purchases, granting access to courses and class materials, and managing your account.

To communicate with you. Sending order confirmations, account-related notifications, and responses to your inquiries.

For marketing. If you register for a free class, purchase a course, or otherwise opt in to our mailing list, we may send you marketing emails related to Feather’s programs, upcoming events, and occasional partner offers we think you’ll find relevant. See Section 5 for more detail.

For site analytics and improvement. Understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve the experience.

For security and fraud prevention. Monitoring IP addresses, filtering spam, and operating our web application firewall to protect the site and its users.

For behavioral marketing. If you add items to your cart or take other actions on our site, we may follow up with targeted communications (such as cart abandonment emails) unless you have opted out.

5. Email Marketing and Communications

We use email marketing platforms — currently including MailChimp and MailerLite — to manage our mailing list and send communications.

Who we market to. If you sign up for a free class, purchase a course or other product, or explicitly opt in to our mailing list, you may receive marketing emails from us. These may include information about Feather’s courses, events, and products, as well as offers from partners we trust.

Who we do not market to. Submitting a message through our contact form does not add you to our marketing list. That form is for communication only.

We do not sell or share your personal information. Your name, email address, and any other personally identifiable information you provide will never be sold to or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Opting out. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may opt out at any time, and we will remove you from our marketing list promptly.

6. Third-Party Services and Embedded Content

Stripe. We use Stripe to process payments. When you make a purchase, your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and stored on their secure servers. We do not have access to your full card details. For information on how Stripe handles your data, please review Stripe’s Privacy Policy. Transaction records in Stripe are subject to Stripe’s own data retention policies, which may be beyond our ability to modify or delete.

Commenting platforms. Our site may use a third-party commenting system. If so, comments you submit may be governed by that platform’s own terms and privacy policy, not solely ours. We will note clearly on the site if a third-party comment system is in use.

Spam filtering and security. We use automated spam detection services (such as Akismet) and a web application firewall to protect the site. These services may process your IP address and comment data to identify and filter spam or malicious traffic.

Embedded content. Some pages on our site — particularly blog posts — may include embedded content from third-party platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo. Embedded content behaves as if you have visited those websites directly. Those platforms may collect data about you, set their own cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, particularly if you are logged in to an account on those platforms.

Links to third-party sites. We may link to or reference third-party products, services, or partners. Once you leave our site by clicking an external link, you are subject to the privacy policy of the site you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

7. Media Uploads

If you upload a profile image or any other media to your account, please be aware that image files can contain embedded metadata (known as EXIF data), which may include GPS location information. We recommend removing location data from images before uploading them, as uploaded images may be publicly visible on your profile.

8. How Long We Retain Your Data

Account and profile data. We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, or until you request that it be deleted.

Comments. Comments and their associated metadata are retained indefinitely so that we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. You may request that your comments be removed by contacting us.

Purchase records. Transaction history stored in Stripe is subject to Stripe’s own retention policies. While we can make requests on your behalf, some payment records may be required to be retained for legal or financial compliance reasons and may not be fully erasable.

Security and log data. IP addresses and security-related logs are retained as operationally necessary and periodically purged.

In general, your data is stored on our server infrastructure and database indefinitely unless you request removal. See Section 9 for how to make that request.

9. Your Rights Over Your Data

You have the following rights with respect to the personal data we hold about you:

Access. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction. You may update your account information at any time through your account settings, or contact us to request corrections.

Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal data. We will honor such requests to the extent possible. Some data — such as transaction records required for legal or financial purposes, or data held by third-party services like Stripe — may not be fully removable.

Opt-out. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly. You may also opt out of analytics and advertising cookies through your browser settings or the relevant platform opt-out tools.

To make any of the above requests, contact us using our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Data Security and Storage

Your data is stored on our server infrastructure and site database. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including the use of a web application firewall, bot filtering, and spam detection services.

Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, whose security infrastructure meets rigorous industry standards including PCI DSS compliance.

No website or online system can guarantee absolute security. While we work to protect your information, we cannot warrant that unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss will never occur.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of this site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
